The Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War
In 2016 when one Presidential candidate has
revived fascism’s many appeals to hate, THE LINCOLN BRIGADE
story offers vital lessons. In 1936 General Francisco Franco’s fascist armies marched on Madrid, Spain’s capitol, supported by planes and troops from Hitler’s Germany and Mussolini's Italy.
When the U.S., England and France did nothing, 2800 American men and women all races, so compelled by the danger of fascism spreading globally, chose to volunteer and fight fascism by forming the Lincoln Brigade.
